[He arrived an hour early before the promised time despite spending all night reading on manuals about what to do on dates. He's learned from his past experiences and made sure the books he got had some credibility. So now he's wearing something comfortable and less formal. Just a simple brown coat, beige dress shirt, light brown slacks, and clean cut loafers.]

[He's also holding a small present which he keeps inside his pants pocket for later. No flowers, nothing too big. He wouldn't want to give too much of an impression. No, never again. Hopefully, this time it would go well without any misunderstandings.]

[He flinches as he feels her fingers slip around his, surprised by how intimate she's suddenly become. He's new to the idea, and it makes him nervous. Germans may be comfortable with their bodies, but being so close to someone else's is a whole different league.]

[I'm here to spend time with you.]

[That sounds really pleasant. And it makes him feel...happy? Is this happiness? He just wants to sit here and hold her hand.]

This date is your idea so I grant you the permission to decide what you'd like to do...!

[ She catches his flinch but she doesn't pull her hand away. Instead she ops to loosen her fingers, giving the option to pull away if he likes but letting him know that she wants to hold his hand. ]

I just told you what I'd like to do. I want to spend time with you.

[ She laughs softly before looking around. It's VERY crowded here and she decides she needs to get them away from the crowds. ]

How about we go where the crowds aren't, hm? We can have some quality alone time.

[ Okay NOW she's just teasing him. She's got a thing for making handsome men blush. ]

[Alone time!? What does that mean? It could mean anything---was she too embarrassed of them being together in public?]

[But she did say she wanted to spend time with him, so could this be a good thing?]

[He's already turning red just from being told that she wanted time with him. If she could see the little hearts fall from him now.]

I...I see! Let's go somewhere alone!! We can go there! There doesn't seem to be anyone!

[He shyly tugs her by the hand, away from the people and towards the fossil museum.]

Ah, alrig--!!

[ And off they go, smiling as she lets him pull her aside towards... the fossil museum? Of course there's no one in here, everyone wants to see the live fish, not the dead ones. She doesn't complain though, fossils are fun too. ]

Oh, there's really no one here. But fossils are so fascinating.

They are.

[He takes her in further, in front of a very large display of a stone slab covered with impressions of ancient sea shells.]

[There's a silence, with the AC humming quietly in the background. It's just two of them holding hands, alone.]

Err...Do you think there were beings like us from this period?

[bellabelgium]

[ It's a very large slab with so much to look at. She's investigating it, taking it all in as she holds his hand quietly, checking out a particularly large spiral shell before looking at him. ]

Ah, well... that's tough to say. But if I had to guess I'd say no.

[It's one of those mysteries that some higher being has yet to explain.]

Even with how advanced our science has become over the years, there are still things that we haven't figured out.

I still have a lot of questions to ask myself...

Well... A nation is only born when a civilization is created, isn't it? So then, even though there were primitive humans, they were too primitive to really have a civilization that would bring forth someone like us. So I don't think we were around that far back.

That's right. We originated from humanity, which is why we've taken form as one.

Because of that we're able to enjoy things like emotions and beauty.

[He looks at her earnestly, and then at their hands still holding.]

[ She smiles to herself when he says that, still looking up at the fossil wall as she gives his hand a gentle squeeze. ]

Yeah. I like that idea.

...We should admire the other pieces since we're already here.

[Since she's here to spend time with him, it doesn't matter how long they're in one place right?]

[ Not at all. ]

Yes, of course.

[ She turns to smile at him, giving him a sweet look before leading him towards another fossil display, this time of hung up prehistoric skeletons hovering in mid air in all of their majesty. ]

I wonder what it would have been like living at the same time as these monsters.

[Skeletons, huh. Everything was a lot bigger back then. It's amazing.]

We would have spent most of our lives foraging and hunting for food, just trying to survive, instead of bickering with one another. Though, this kind of conflict is a form of peace in itself.

I suppose it is. I prefer this kind of peace though.

It certainly gives us time to think about what's important in living other than being alive.

[He's being philosophical, things like this are a bit easier to talk about than how he's feeling.]

Like beer...

[bellabelgium]

[ That makes her laugh, light and playful, taking a half step towards him as she nods in agreement. ]

Yes, like beer.

[He made her laugh so he feels good. He smiles and relaxes. Anyone who likes beer is sure to be a good companion.]

If they serve any here, do you want to have some?

[ That's good because she LOVES beer. Clearly. ]

[Even bigger smile.]

You can order as much as you want!

[Because he might do the same. Hopefully, there'll be a limit to how much they can drink in an aquarium. But chances are, they might end up with apple juice.]
